The Principality of Monaco first in the “Blue Zone Capital for runners” ranking

Running is a great way to stay fit, but what else can we do to improve our physical health and increase our overall well-being?

The so-called “Blue Zones” are areas where life expectancy and quality of life are very high.
This begs the question: could moving to a Blue Zone capital be the key to finding health and happiness?

I already gave myself the answer when I moved 1.5 km from Monaco four years ago. And I can assure you that my physical and mental well-being has benefited greatly.

From a market research done by an independent partner of Puma, the Principality ranked first as the best Blue Zone for runners on a list of 46 countries in the European area.

Let me explain. Many factors were taken into account in the research: quality of air, drinking water, happiness index, annual hours of sunshine, number of running clubs, etc… Monaco was ranked first ahead of Andorra, Bosnia Herzegovina, Holland, Croatia and followed by the other countries.

Indeed the number of runners here is important. Running along the “Sentier des Douaniers” that connects Monaco to Cap Martin is an incredible experience. Practicing sports outdoors here is a routine. If you want to work out on the Promenade of the Larvotto beach in Monte Carlo, you will find different equipment to train in front of the sea.

Running, and sport in general, is a great habit. You just have to choose the right place and the right sports equipment!

Long live the Principality of Monaco and long live sport!
